摘要

Foods form an important part of the PL Law but also involve a large amount of special issues. Globalization trends are noticeable in this field since the conclusion of the GATT Uruguay Round negotiations. Particularly, the indication and labelling system has been reformed at a fast pace since the establishment of the principles of international harmonization in terms of standards and approval systems, with the introduction of the WHO/FAO CODEX-approved HACCP system gathering highly interest from the fields of processing, distribution and food preparation. The O-157 food borne illness case in the summer of 1996 had not only an extremely large impact on the food industry but also improved awareness of the safety of foods among people in general.
