One of the nice things about being an editor is that I get to meet a lot of interesting people. As a technology buff, I am especially fortunate to be at the helm of a scientific computing magazine. The people I meet come from a wide array of industries, including mathematics, chemistry, statistics, LIMS, high performance computing, chromatography, data acquisition and others. Whenever I travel to a tradeshow or conference, I am likely to see cutting edge products unveiled for the first time or hear about new products that have not hit the market but are on the horizon.
