The strangest tale to report this month is the supposed cancellation of the Costa Classica lengthening at Cammell Laird (CL). Stories of the ship putting into La Corunna (Spain), while enroute to the shipyard, and deboarding all the CL staff, and Costa staff being escorted from the shipyard, have been common throughout this messy business. There are also rumours that the contract may still go ahead, although at a later stage. Ship Care cannot remember such a problem arising before, especially involving such a large and prestigious contract. There appears only one solution - both parties should start talking, before the legal industry makes a fortune.
