Belfast's Harland & Wolff has made the decision to return to the general repair market - a market from which it with-drew two years ago, quoting competition from Poland as one of the main reasons. Jim Eccles has been director and general manager of Harland & Wolff's shiprepair division for the past five years, having cut his teeth on Swansea Drydocks. He is looking forward to making a mark back in an industry which was fairly successful for the yard during the early and mid-1990s.
