Any shiprepair yard can show its experience easily by detailing the number of ships repaired and which shipowners/managers return to use the facilities repeatedly. This is certainly true with Lisnave, where returning customers are common. The first two tables opposite show the type of ships and the main owners using Lisnave during the first eight months of this year. During 1999, Portugal's Lisnave repaired a total of 132 ships, an increase of 12% and a total tonnage increase of 5%, reaching more than 9m dwt from 88 different shipowners from 21 countries. Although shiprepair contracts for tankers and oil/bulk/ore carriers (OBOs) fell by 28%, a significant increase was seen with regards to other types of vessels.
