As a long-time reader of Shore & Beach, over the years I have followed Allan William's series of articles on beach management, safety, and debris clean up. Therefore, I opened this book with high expectations and am pleased to report that the efforts of Allan and his co-author, Anton Micallef, were not disappointing. I highly recommended this book to those involved with coastal physical and environmental processes; local, state, and federal scientists and policy makers dealing with beach management and coastal management; and those with interest in or responsibility for beach management, including environmental and water-quality considerations.
