摘要

The New England coastline routinely experiences northeasters and southeasters throughout the storm season, and November 2009 was no exception. In support of Regional Sediment Studies in Rhode Island, a directional wave buoy (NDBC 44097) was deployed in October 2009, which recorded the November storm as it moved north along the eastern seaboard. This paper describes the observations of the "Friday the 13th" storm of November, 2009 as seen on south facing Rhode Island beaches and presents the wave data generated from the Block Island, RI, buoy. Wind observations were recorded at the Montauk, NY, buoy (NDBC 44017).
