Pacific Crest Trail from Mt. Hood to the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. July 6-13. Starting from historic Timberline Lodge on the flanks of Mt. Hood, this scenic 47-mile segment of the Pacific Crest Trail traverses alpine meadows of riotous wild-flowers, glacier-fed mountain streams, and moss-draped canyons filled with waterfalls. One layover day offers views of the Cascades' volcanic peaks before we drop into the spectacular Columbia River Gorge. Good physical condition is required for our 6-11 mile days. (Rated M.)
