摘要

It is a fascinating and engaging book based on the author's ten over years of observation on a variety of global issues ranging from economic, political, demographic, technological, religion, environment, governance and more. His observations contest many of the conventional beliefs and wisdom over the past 200 years or so. In doing so, the book forces the readers to rethink some of these accepted assumptions and conclusions. Given the variety of issues dealt in the book, the writer admits that the book lacks the "academic rigor" but stresses the usefulness of "going beyond the academic approach" by focusing on the issues with "normative discussion". Unlike other books, this one opens with the conclusion chapter which extends up to 104 pages including 10 pages of references.
