Maximizing the life cycle of engines is an important aspect of aircraft maintenance programs. One way to extend engine life cycles is to reduce wear and tear on turbine components. The primary cause of turbine wear and tear is imbal-ance. Although there are dozens of conventional balancing systems and techniques, engines with simple out-of-balance conditions are often prematurely removed from the aircraft and transported to a test cell for overhaul.
