The recently announced agreement between Facebook and satellite fleet operator Eutelsat to jointly lease Ka-band broadband satellite capacity to provide Internet service to 14 sub-Sa-haran African nations for just five years leaves unanswered a bigger question for both: Is that all there is? The social media giant has long spoken of using high-altitude drones - with the business model uncertain - and other platforms to deliver its Internet, org service to unconnected populations, with satellites only marginally in the mix.
