Satellite fleet operator Intelsat on Dec. 11 said Stephen Spengler, the company's chief commercial officer, will replace David McGlade as chief executive on April 1. McGlade will become executive chairman of the company and will focus on strategic issues. McGlade has been Intelsat's chief executive for 10 years as of next April 1. Spengler will immediately move into the position of deputy chief executive until the transfer in April. Headquartered in Luxembourg, with its operational management in McLean, Virginia, Intelsat has a fleet of 50-plus satellites with footprints in most regions of the world.
