Sir, It was bad enough that Peter Dickens attempted to hijack a BIS lecture last September (under the misleading heading of 'How should we humanise outer space') but it was somehow much worse to find some of the same highly political views resurfacing in Spaceflight (Letters and emails, April 2011, p152). Mr Dickens claims he understands the issues which are critical to the Society's future. I would suggest that views which are based on political dogma, especially outdated Marxist views, are utterly irrelevant to the Society's aims and ambitions.
