The 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's single orbit of the Earth was celebrated in Little Eagles, a production about the early Soviet space programme - not normally material that one would expect to be the subject of a theatrical production, least of all by the Royal Shakespeare Company. This play, by Rona Munro, is about the life of Sergei Korolyov, the Soviet Union's famous 'Chief Designer', and his political battles, taking you back to the days when the Cold War infused the manned space programmes of both Russia and America with an energy that has been lacking for many decades.
