摘要

We consider weld optimization with stress constraints and thermal load. Our interest for weld optimization is motivated by the development of exhaust aftertreatment systems, because most designs of these systems involve components that are assembled with welds and the designs are exposed to heat from the exhaust. We find that it is possible to optimize the welds with commercial software. An example is given in the end of the paper.
