The present situation of sugarsector was showed on the annual refresher course for sugarbeet advisors. Interactions among the members of sector (growers, factories, traders, and consumers) was analysed in the respect of effectiveness. The effort of sugar industry is to supply the home market with sugar made from Hungarian sugarbeet in Hungary exclusively. Due to privatization the capacities broken up into small parts which need expansion, but the narrowing market requires less output. Because of distribution of income, the relation between growers and factories is strained. The little factories need to be closed and the growing area need decreasing in spite of injuries of participant. These necessary steps were supperted with statistics.
