In the field of road infrastructures financing (roads, motorways, bridges, tunnels) and in their operation, the principle of the toll is widely used on every continent and has existed for a long time. Although the taxation of vehicles over distances travelled, essentially based on the fuel consumed, constitutes the most widely used and most legitimate source of financing to cover all kinds of costs of regarding the road transport network, toll constitutes a very useful tool.%Dans le domaine du financement des infrastructures routières (routes, autoroutes, ponts, tunnels) et de leur exploitation, le principe du péage d'ouvrage est largement utilisé sur tous les continents et depuis longtemps. Même si la taxation des véhicules sur les distances parcourues, essentiellement appuyée sur les carburants consommés, constitue la source de financement la plus utilisée et la plus légitime pour couvrir les co?ts de toute nature du réseau de transport routier, le péage est un outil indispensable.
