Amsterdam, Netherlands-based stevedoring and logistics group, Ter Haak Intermodal (THI) is to start a new rail shuttle link between the port of Rotterdam's box terminals and the tri-modal inland terminal in Strasbourg, France. The Alsace Rail Shuttle will initially comprise two departures a week in each direction when the 'fast-direct' service commences on May 23, but THI is aiming to increase this to thrice-weekly 'in the near future'. The container shuttle will service the key ECT Delta, APM T and Euromax terminals in the port as well as the empty depots - targeting shippers operating in the Alsace region as well as across the Rhine in Germany.
