Colloidal stabilization of beer can be addressed in terms of remov- ing either or both participating components in the haze formation, i.e., haze-active proline-rich proteins and tannoids and the polphyenol precursors in the formation of tannoids. It is a well-established prac- tice to use silica gel with high adsorptive capacity for the removal of proteins and corss-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVPP), Polycar, for the removal of tannoids, flavanols and monomeric and polymeric polphyenols.
