A range of reinforcements made using recycled carbon fibres has been developed by ELG Carbon Fibre. The company from Coseley, UK, says that the use of recycled carbon fibres could help to overcome the prohibitive costs of composites reinforced with virgin carbon fibres for use in automotive applications. From its dedicated recovery plant in Coseley, ELG Carbon Fibre has developed a recycling process based on pyrolysis that converts manufacturing waste into usable products.
