Freudenberg Performance Materials has invested €3 million to install a spunlaid pilot line at its plant in Kaiserslautern, Germany, where it aims to develop innovative products and create new markets for its fabrics. At the Kaiserslautern plant, established in 1970, Freudenberg Performance Materials develops nonwovens made using its patented, proprietary spunlaid process, currently marketing the materials to the automotive, construction, filter and carpet industries. Two other businesses in the Freudenberg Group, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies and Freudenberg Medical, also operate from the plant.
