Founded in 1996, Star Sock of Oisterwijk, The Netherlands, has suppliers in China, Turkey and Portugal, and now sells more than 15 million pairs of knitted socks a year, equivalent to around 624 t of product. The company's founder, Eric Roosen says: "We focus on socks for sports, outdoor pursuits and work, and we are a partner to a number of strong brands such as Dakar, Lotto and New Balance. Our goal is to take a leading role in the European sock market through a combination of innovation, brand support and technical expertise. Respect for the environment is one of our top priorities."
