Editor Nick Butler attended the inauguration of a pilot plant in Montbonnot, France, dedicated to hydroentangled nonwovens to learn more about the latest machinery and processes behind a sector of the industry enjoying robust growth. From 12 March 2013,nonwovens producers have had access to the new technical center at Andritz Perfojet in Montbonnot, France. Dedicated to the production of hydroentangled (spunlaced) fabrics, the line is fitted with the nonwoven machinery builder's latest commercially available innovations for carding, hydroentanglement, impregnation, dewatering and drying. Opening and blending is possible for any type of fibre; natural fibres, synthetics and blends can be processed.Andritz Perfojet has designed this neXline spun-lace pilot line to support the research efforts of nonwovens producers, as well as its own development.
