Lenzing subsidiary PT South Pacific Viscose (SPV), located in Purwakarta, has begun its first trials on a new fourth production line.rnRegular operation is expected to commence in the course of the second quarter 2010, when the line will produce viscose fibres for the nonwovens industry and for textile applications.rnA total cost of about US$ 150 million makes the construction of the fourth SPV line the biggest individual investment project of the Lenzing Group in recent years and brings Lenzing's total investment in SPV to date to more than US$500 million.The project took 18 months to complete, with key components supplied by Lenzing's subsidiary Lenzing Technik. The additional 60 kt of nominal annual capacity of this line will boost total capacity at SPV to 220 kt of viscose fibres a year.
