SGL Group of Wiesbaden, Germany, has announced that its sales of € 1226 million for 2009 were down 24% compared with 2008.rnThe company generated earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of €110.4 million for 2009, almost € 195 million down on the EBIT reported for 2008.rnFor SGL's carbon fibres and composites segment, sales increased by 9% in 2009 compared with 2008, due to the consolidation of SGL Rolec. However, the segment made an EBIT loss of €22.9 million compared with a profit €8.9 million in 2008.
