Nanogate AG has introduced the first product based on its N_charge~R technology. At the European filtration trade fair Filtrex - held 7-8 October 2008 in Cologne, Germany - the company from Quierschied-Goet-telborn, Germany, presented a filter media containing an electric storage layer that remains permanently statically charged-the products are called PermaStatic~R. After applying a PermaStatic finish, individual fibres in the filter media are covered in a layer of less than 100 nm. Filtration performance is improved significantly because the finish actively attracts and retains fine dust particles with its static charge. As a result, conventional systems can be converted into high-performance filters easily and economically, claimed Nanogate. Further, the treatment does not affect the air permeability of the filter media.
