Leading nonwovens producers DuPont, Freudenberg Politex and Johns Manville have all announced capacity expansions for product lines primarily dedicated to the building industry in the past 12 months. Both Freudenberg Politex and Johns Manville specialize in polyester spunbonded products which are being increasingly accepted worldwide as backings for roofing membranes due to a number of unique benefits, including polyester's high tenacity and high temperature resistance compared to competing fibres.
