With cooperation partners from a large number of clinics and companies, the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM), Dresden/Germany, conducts research along the entire value chain from biomaterial to (pre-) clinical testing of fiber-based implants. The institute has many years of experience and expertise in basic and application-oriented research in the field of fiber-based biomedical technology. With the wide range of plant technologies and testing laboratories, the focus of development work is particularly on the transfer from research to marketable products. The current research highlights cover from the development to fiber-based implants for heart and vascular diseases to eardrum defects and ligamentous tendon injuries.
