The leading share of polyolefins (polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE)) in the total European textiles market has further recovered from the dramatic fall in 2008 and 2009 and is still increasing. The annual market study published by the European Association for Textile Polyolefins (EATP), Brussels/Belgium, in January 2012 gives a complete and authoritative picture of the polyolefin textiles market in Europe. In 2010, polyolefins accounted for 44% of all man-made fibers used for textiles. Consumption of polyolefin textiles was almost 2.5 million tons.
