The Japanese fiber producer Mitsubishi Rayon Co. Ltd., Tokyo, has resumed construction of a new carbon fiber plant to be operational from the second quarter of 2011. This plant in Otake, Hiroshima Pref., will be the largest carbon fiber plant (2,700 tons/year) in capacity.rnMitsubishi Rayon is a leading carbon fiber producer with capacities in Japan, the USA and Europe and a total capacity of 8,100 tons/year (see TT 3/2010, page E 66).
