Fibre Extrusion Technology (FET), Leeds/UK, has opened a state-of-the-art in-house pilot development center at their headquarters in Leeds for use primarily by customers. The center features the following: 1.Pilot extrusion systems for multifilament yarns, monofilaments and nonwovens 2.Melt injection devices for liquid additives 3.Systems development including equipment configuration 4.'Proof of concept' product development projects based on customer input 5.Material evaluation especially of polymers and additives 6.Process development including the establishment of optimum processing conditions 7.Rheology to evaluate polymer properties prior to starting extrusion.
