As a public high school graduate trying out for Harvard's prestigious crew team against experienced prep school rowers, David Fellows might have felt at a disadvantage. Instead, while Fellows was learning how to row the right way the first time, his coaches had to break the prep school boys of their bad rowing habits, then retrain them the Harvard way.
