Rheumy-eyed reminiscing and self-deprecating anecdotes were min-gled with forceful opinions when Sir Terry Wogan spoke to a packed RTS Veterans lunch in April. Wogan has worked continuously for the BBC since presenting the radio show, Midday Spin, in the mid-1960s. "The BBC I joined as a broadcaster was an extremely confident organisation. It didn't apologise; it didn't explain; it did what it thought was correct. It made the programmes that it thought the public should see," he said.
