The Japanese manufacturer of computerised knitting machines, Shima Seiki, which had pioneered the Wholegarment Manufacturing Technology over two decades ago, has held, in partnership with its Hong Kong subsidiary, a three-day exhibition called Shima CrossTex in Hong Kong in mid-January. It showcased the company's latest computerised flat knitting machines and related machinery. Most of these equipment had previously been presented at ITMA last November, some in different specifications, and had attracted much interest from visitors. So, the purpose of the Hong Kong event, held as a private exhibition, was to bring them to connect specifically with potential customers in Hong Kong and the mainland of China. The companies that participated in the event included Jiangsu Guotai International Group/ Huilan Industry Co.,-Swanda, Shanghai Xinnuo Zhanchuang Yarn, Daiwabo Rayon, Toyoboshi Kogyo, Nikko Textile, Novotex, Ningbo Consinee Woolen Textile, Guangdong United Progress Wooltex and Jiangsu Lugang Science and Technology in the business of spinning; Toyota Industries Corporation for spinning/textile; Nakaden Keori for textile; Maito Design for apparel; and Yoshida Senko for dyeing.
