Forecast for the Italian textile machinery manufacturing sector this year remains cautious although the industry made notable gains in 2011, the second year in a row since the 2009 sump caused by the global economic crisis. Provisional figures for production and sales gathered by the country's textile machinery manufacturers association ACIMIT show that all sectors from production to exports and domestic sales have registered growth last year. Production increased, in terms of value, by 9% to almost 2.6 billion euros, exports increased by 11% from 1.9 billion euros in 2010 to 2.1 billion euros last year and domestic sales climbed by 2% to 1.1 billion euros.
