The potential positive and negative applications of Radio Frequency Identification Technology from both the consumers' and suppliers' perspective. The last 25 years have seen rapid and radical development in information technology, with the potential for positive impact on personal computers and mobile telephones. RFID is one of the newest information and communication technologies (ICT). Although this technology was conceived in the 1940s it is only recent progress in microchip and wireless technology that have rendered current applications feasible (Gehrig, 1999; Holzan, 2004). Now RFID has the potential to make the same technological impact as the Internet did in the late 1990s (Allied Business Intelligence, 2002).
