Maharashtra State Government's New Textile Policy is likely to attract an investment of Rs 40,000 crore in New Textile projects by the year 2017. Maharashtra State Government must ensure that the State gets large number of processing units and also should work towards attracting new home textile projects and encourage expansion of the existing home textile capacities in the State. Maharashtra State Government is planning to attract the Gujarat textile industry, for making investments in new textile projects in Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra. Maharashtra State's Textile Minister, Naseem Khan is likely to lead a high level delegation to Ahmedabad in the month of May, to propose to textile industry in Gujarat to invest in Maharashtra, thereby taking the benefit of the newly released textile policy and the sops offered for the development of textile parks in Maharashtra.
