"Quality since 1951" is the baseline of Buddemeyer, one of Brazil's most famous terry towel producers. But in fact this quality claim dates back much earlier, from 1936, when Freder-ich Buddemeyer started as a manufacturer of weaving machines. The Buddemeyer saga actually started in 1929, when Freder-ich Buddemeyer and his wife Fri-da Hentriette set foot on Brazilian ground, emigrating from Germany. Hoping to build up a new future they first tried their luck in the mining business deep in the Amazon jungle. As this hazardous way of life did not being bring the results they had expected, they moved back to a more civilized environment in 1936 and settled down in Sao Bento do Sul (Santa Catarina).
