In the meantime success in retail almost presupposes -apart from the right goods and the right attitude as well as specific skills - the clever handling of information technology. Merchandise management and supply chain management, communication between branches, head office and suppliers, opilimisation and harmonisation of the payment systems, internationalisation, individual customer address, inventory (and inventory discrepancies) - these cue words always tie up with an IT solution idea in today's practice. Retail is investing according to findings of the IT branch per year around I % of its gross turnover in information technology resp., in systems, in hard and software which help to solve very specific problems. Target: more sales and a better image for the retailer company.%Erfolg im Einzelhandel setzt -neben der richtigen Ware und der richtigen Einstellung sowie spezifischen Kenntnissen - den klugen Umgang mit Informationstechnik inzwischen beinahe voraus. Warenwirtschaft und Supply Chain Management, Kommunikation zwischen Filiale, Zentrale und Lieferanten, Optimierung und Harmonisierung der Zahlungssysteme, Internationalisierung, individuelle Kundenansprache, Inventur (und Inventur-Differenzen) - diese Stichworte verbinden sich in der heutigen Praxis eigentlich immer mit einem IT-Lösungsansatz.
