The lightness of being is one of our biggest aspirations. This feeling is so brief and fragile that we attempt time and again to make it last and tangible, e.g. with fashion. The ideas for Menswear S/S 2010 express a light-heartedness and optimism that is missing from our economic and society structures. In an interview with TV channel Arte, Daniel Birnbaum, the curator at this year's Berlinale in Venice, said that we are looking for new beginnings. If it does not exist in the financial and economic world, then perhaps in the area of art and culture, which luckily also includes fashion, even if it is difficult for some in this country.
