摘要

Silk was dyed with Bhringraj leaves dye using standard dyeing conditions. Faded green colour was obtained without mordant and with the use of synthetic as well as natural mordants shades of tnehndi green, dark olive green, dark grayish green, light yellow green, moderate yellow green, dark mustard, grayish copper and dark tan etc. were obtained. The colours were found fast against washing, rubbing, sunlight and perspiration. Hence, the explored source was found suitable for natural dyeing of silk.
