Twenty-two hardened members battled through the West Country floods to the Bristol Region, to listen to an interesting talk by David Murby on the history of Glass's Guide through the years and the company's new and improved valuations system - G2. The idea of a standardised vehicle valuation system was founded by William Glass back in the 1930s. He realised that there was no consistent approach to compiling vehicle values, and so he developed one. Having researched values reached by used cars, he manually compiled the first ever Glass's Guide.
