On Tuesday, 25 June, 25 members and guests attended the Junction 25 Conference Centre, Brighouse for the Yorkshire Region's final presentation before the summer break. Several members took the opportunity to give their own 'big cats' a run out to the event. Peter Leake - sometimes referred to as 'the only Leake in a Jaguar' - gave a fascinating insight into the story behind Jaguar's successes at the iconic Le Mans 24 Hours race. Starting with a brief overview of the company history, from its beginnings as Swallow Sidecars, Peter brought to life the legend that was to become Jaguar at Le Mans, from a privateer XK120, which came 12th in 1950, to the XJ220, which took a class win in 1993.
