Re the issue of Post Repair Diminution in Value, I recall that Mercedes-Benz once issued a note that any Mercedes-Benz vehicle (manufactured after 1995) repaired within their network would not suffer diminution in value if subsequently taken in part-exchange within their dealer network. Porsche also issued a letter to say that any repairs carried out to a Porsche by a (Porsche) approved repairer would be guaranteed for the life of that vehicle. While any such assurances would not affect the basic position in law, it would pose a question as to whether any loss is sustained.
