An electronically-controlled fluid metering system designed to dispense precise volumes of lubricant to a cupper lubricator has been introduced by Unist. The system, called Apex, is an upgrade for the company’s existing Uni-Roller cupper lubricator. It uses an electronically-controlled displacement pump to dispense precise and repeatable volumes of lubricant to the coil stock, says Unist. The pump is unaffected by changes in lubricant viscosity, and so provides a consistent performance in varying ambient temperatures.
