In contrast to the Tokyo Pack 2000, not too many environment-friendly packaging were found in the Pack Expo 2000 at Chicago. The general tendency of the pursuit of "economy" and "con- venience" in the U.S. packaging in recent years seems to be contradictory to its statistical success in recycling and composting. However, it doesn't mean that the U.S. packaging industry ignores the environmental issues.
