This report outlines trends observed in sales package design, which is now changing in the face of the tremendous tide of social reform. It begins with descriptions of general market con- ditions, and then focuses on such topics as contribution of selection of materials and functional- ity to sales growth, importance of seeking the best possible shapes and expressions for visual communication, and issues currently faced by graphic designers engaged in package deisng.
