A total of 178 adult dogs of various breeds, 67 males and 111 females were examined for Brucella canis infection by 2-Mercaptoethanol-Rapid Slide Agglutination test and blood and/or organ cultures. Three dogs(1.68/100) were found positive to the test, however, the bacterial culture was not done. Bacterial culture was attempted in 6 dogs with history of reproductive failure but negative to 2-ME-RSAT, no Brucella canis organism was detected.
