PD 6547 has been re-issued and updated in 2009 and this report offers a brief summary of the changes that have been made and discusses the implications of these changes. PD 6547 was originally issued in 2004 to give guidance and background information to specifiers and manufacturers of lighting columns in the use on BS EN 40-3-1 and BS EN 40-3-3 which specify the design of lighting columns.rnThe design standard used in determining the wind loads on a lighting column in BS EN 40-3-1:2000 has now been superseded and PD6547 has been updated to use the current standard for the UK, this being BS EN 1991-1-4:2005-the date is taken from the National Annex Figure NA.1
