It will not be a surprise to BALPA members that some features of the UK airspace need an update. This is a complex task, both because it requires reconciliation of the demands of UK users with very different needs, and because the UK is surrounded by airspace with which our airspace must work co-operatively, and which is also the subject of research leading to redesign to enhance safety, efficiency and capacity. BALPA has been involved in this process from the start.
